Important info about this itinerary
Flights arriving on Day 1 of the itinerary must arrive between 11am-1pm EST to have included transportation. You can contact us and arrive early with some add-on packages we can create for your group. It is better to arrive earlier than later, as our tour starts around 4 pm on the first tour day. We can arrange private airport transport at any time. All flights arriving must come into Havana and depart from Havana. If you book a departing flight from another city and/or stay extra days, the transportation will not be included.
All breakfasts are included. Other meals are on a per-day basis.ย All music entries and reservations reflected in the itinerary are also included.
This is just a sample itinerary; you will receive a detailed itinerary with confirmed events closer to your trip departure. We try to have a preliminary itinerary a few weeks before, but the final music schedule will not be until a few days before your trip. We use all of our musical knowledge as professional musicians and musicologists to curate the best music during the tour.ย

Is this tour legal for U.S. travelers?
Yes. This tour follows the U.S. Treasuryโs General License for Educational Activities, Group People-to-People (ยง515.565). Each day includes structured cultural and educational exchanges with Cuban musicians, artists, and private entrepreneurs. You will receive a full compliance packet before travel.
What level of accommodations are included?
You will stay at Boutique Hotel Claxon (or similar) in Havana. Each room includes a private bathroom, daily breakfast, and on-site staff support. If Claxon becomes unavailable, we will offer an equal or better boutique option and confirm with you before finalizing.
How many people are in the group?
This VIP tour is limited to 8 guests. Small groups let you meet musicians, ask questions, and enjoy a more personal experience.
What music events will we attend?
We confirm the final night-by-night schedule a few days before the tour because Havanaโs music scene changes daily. We reserve high-quality concerts, jazz clubs, studio sessions, and private performances using our local musician network.
What is a โprivate studio sessionโ?
It is an intimate live performance inside a professional recording studio. You listen through studio headphones (Snarky Puppy style), meet the band, and ask questions about their music and creative process.
Are meals included?
Yes. Breakfast is included every day. The tour also includes several lunches and dinners at private paladares and homes. One dinner is at your leisure. The final schedule on your confirmation email will show exactly which meals are included for your tour dates.
Can you accommodate dietary needs?
Usually, yes. El Candil and our partner paladares offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-friendly options. Tell us your needs when booking.
What is the pace of the tour?
Comfortable but full. Most days include 6โ8 hours of structured activities, plus meals and music events. We include downtime and one lighter day so you can relax or explore on your own.
Is this tour good for solo travelers?
Yes. Some of our VIP guests travel solo. You will have a private room at El Candil, and our team offers support throughout the week.
Do I need to bring cash?
Plan to bring enough cash for tips, souvenirs, extra drinks, and meals not included. U.S. cards do not work in Cuba. We provide a suggested cash amount in your pre-departure packet.
What should I pack?
Light clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a small day bag, sun protection, and insect repellent. For evenings, bring neat, comfortable attire. Many Cubans like to dress up when going out to music venues, so pack a few nicer outfits for dinners and night events.
Can you help with flights?
Yes. We offer flight guidance, but flights are not included in the tour price. To use the included airport pickup, choose a flight arriving in Havana between the recommended arrival window listed for your departure.
What if something changes on the itinerary?
Cuba is dynamic. Artists, venues, and schedules can shift. When needed, we adjust quickly and replace an activity with something equal or better. Your musician-guides handle everything on the ground.
