This private tour pairs Havana’s living music scene with the rural landscape and independent farms of Viñales. The schedule is shaped through conversation, then confirmed around current artists, venues, and local availability.
In Havana, spend time with musicians and music specialists in studios, homes, rehearsal spaces, and carefully selected performances. Walk the city with local context, eat at privately owned paladares, and learn how jazz, son, rumba, timba, and Afro-Cuban traditions move through everyday life.
In Viñales, the pace shifts toward agriculture, landscape, and community. The day may include a private farm visit, conversation with local producers, and a farm-to-table lunch before returning to Havana.

This is an example, not a fixed promise of artists or venues. We develop the final timed program around your interests, current schedules, and the activities required by the authorization applicable to each traveler.
Day 1 · Arrive in Havana
Airport welcome, orientation, an introduction to Havana’s private sector, and a welcome dinner with live music selected for the evening.
Day 2 · Old Havana in context
Explore historic plazas and neighborhood life with a guide from our team in Cuba, meet independent entrepreneurs, and continue the conversation over music and dinner.
Day 3 · Inside the music
A proposal can include a live performance in a professional studio, with time to meet the musicians and ask about their music. Some HMT studio formats use headphones to bring out details of the ensemble. We confirm the listening setup, artists, shared meal and evening performance for your group.
Day 4 · Rhythm, records & roots
Trace Cuban music through a guided listening session, workshop, or dance class, with direct exchange led by independent artists and educators.
Day 5 · Viñales Valley
Viñales is a full-day road excursion from Havana. The proposed visit focuses on independent agriculture, rural life and conversation with local producers, with a farm-to-table lunch. We allow for travel in both directions and confirm the farm, meal and other stops in your proposal.
Day 6 · Havana, your way
Continue with scheduled artist, neighborhood, or private-enterprise visits selected for your group, followed by a farewell dinner and final music experience.
Day 7 · Departure
Breakfast and coordinated transfer to José Martí International Airport. Ask about pre-tour or post-tour nights when we prepare your proposal.

For U.S. Travelers
Travel to Cuba is not ordinary tourism for U.S. travelers. When the planned activities qualify, we commonly design private cultural programs around Support for the Cuban People, 31 CFR § 515.574. The final program must maintain a full-time schedule of qualifying activity, meaningful interaction, and support for independent Cuban activity. Private lodging, restaurant spending, concert attendance, or a charitable contribution does not by itself make a trip qualify.
We review the actual itinerary, partners, accommodations, venues, and payment arrangements, including applicable restrictions on direct and indirect transactions. Eligibility depends on the traveler and the final activities; Havana Music Tours does not describe a trip as “OFAC approved” or guarantee that one category fits every traveler.

Is this a fixed departure?
No. This page is a starting point for a private proposal. We confirm your dates, group, room needs, activities, pace, and price before booking.
Will the named artists and venues be guaranteed?
No. Havana’s music calendar changes frequently. We confirm lawful, high-quality options close to travel and substitute thoughtfully when schedules change.
How much does the tour cost?
Pricing depends on dates, group size, room configuration, accommodation, transportation, and the final program. Request a proposal for a clear per-person price and deposit schedule.
Can you accommodate dietary or mobility needs?
Often, yes. Tell us what your group needs before we prepare the proposal so we can discuss realistic options with accommodations, restaurants, drivers, and guides.
How do payments and cards work?
We confirm the accepted payment methods and any card fee in your proposal. In Cuba, U.S.-issued cards may not be supported by the issuing bank or local merchant, so travelers should not rely on card access for on-the-ground expenses.
