My wife and I went on the Jazz Plaza 2024 tour. Really excellent. Chaz and Yami have put together a great team of Cuban guides and facilitators: Rocio, Ismelys… were all wonderful. We are musicians and musicologists with longstanding relationships in Havana. Those connections help us find performances worth staying up for and introduce you to the artists and traditions behind them. Join a small group or plan a private journey; either way, we shape each day around genuine encounters and room for discovery.
U.S. Travelers: Havana Music Tours is a U.S.-based travel organization. U.S. travel to Cuba must fall within an authorized OFAC category. Our scheduled cultural programs are designed around Support for the Cuban People (31 CFR § 515.574), using a full-time schedule of qualifying activities and meaningful interaction; private and custom itineraries are reviewed under the authorization that matches the planned activities. We prioritize privately owned accommodations, restaurants and transportation, private guides, independent musicians and artists, and other Cuban entrepreneurs, while screening applicable restricted-party and prohibited-accommodation rules. Traveling in Cuba today takes thoughtful planning. Our current programs focus on the areas where our on-the-ground relationships are strongest. We use pre-arranged private transportation with experienced local drivers, prioritize vetted private accommodations with generator and/or solar backup when available, and adapt schedules when fuel, power, weather, or the live-music calendar requires it. Our small groups are capped at 10 guests so we can move comfortably and keep the experience personal.
Community commitment: Havana Music Tours contributes 5% of tour revenue to The CreatiVrole Project, supporting community and cultural initiatives in Cuba.
