Havana, through the ears of musicians
This five-day journey is built for travelers who want to understand Havana through its music, art and everyday life. Bilingual musician guides connect the city’s history with what you hear now—from son, salsa and jazz to timba and contemporary Afro-Cuban sounds.
Days combine neighborhood walks, guided listening, creative spaces and selected live performances. You’ll meet independent Cuban musicians, artists, guides, entrepreneurs and hosts, then have enough breathing room to absorb the city for yourself.

A listening session with DJ Jigüe, musician-led nightlife and performances chosen close to departure from Havana’s current calendar.
Small by design
With no more than 10 guests, the group can move comfortably, share meals and build genuine connections with local hosts.

The final performance schedule is curated close to departure, when Havana’s live-music calendar is confirmed. The sequence below shows the shape and pace of the trip.
Day 1 — Arrival and introduction to Havana
Arrive in Havana and transfer to your private Casa Particular or group villa. After time to settle in, take a late-afternoon driving tour through the city’s neighborhoods and landmarks. A cultural orientation and welcome dinner at a favorite privately owned paladar lead into an evening performance featuring leading Cuban musicians.

Day 2 — The heart of Old Havana
After breakfast, explore Habana Vieja on foot through historic plazas, craft markets, galleries and local shops. Enjoy an included lunch or brunch, return to the villa for downtime, then explore Havana’s evening music and art program with your local musician guide. The final itinerary confirms the evening’s venue and performance from Havana’s current calendar.

Day 3 — Music, listening and dance
Join DJ Jigüe in central Havana for a music-history and vinyl-listening session, followed by your choice of salsa class or an instrument lesson. Share a home-prepared Afro-Caribbean-Cuban lunch. The afternoon and dinner are free, and the group reconvenes for a selected live-music venue.

Day 4 — Community art and sustainable agriculture
Visit Fusterlandia, José Fuster’s neighborhood-scale mosaic environment in Jaimanitas. Continue west to Finca Tungasuk for a guided farm visit and included farm-to-table lunch. After free time back in Havana, gather for a farewell dinner at a renowned paladar.

Day 5 — Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast and a relaxed morning before your included transfer to José Martí International Airport. Travelers extending their stay can request separate transport arrangements.

Arrival note: To use the included Day 1 transfer and join the program start, flights should arrive in Havana between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Eastern. Private transfers can be arranged for other arrival times. Included return transport is to Havana airport on Day 5; extensions or departures from another city require separate arrangements.
Stay comfortably in Havana
Scheduled departures use a carefully selected private Casa Particular or group villa with private bathrooms and attentive local support. Because power interruptions can occur in Cuba, we prioritize properties with dependable backup capability such as solar, battery storage and/or generators whenever available.

For U.S. travelers
For U.S. travelers, this program is designed around Support for the Cuban People (31 CFR § 515.574). The confirmed itinerary must provide a full-time schedule of qualifying activities with meaningful interaction and support for independent Cuban activity. Guests need to participate in that program. Private stays, meals, and concert attendance alone do not qualify a trip; time to rest must remain consistent with the full-time schedule.
We provide a detailed program itinerary and current pre-departure guidance for the trip. Cuba uses an electronic visa linked to your passport; procedures, fees and entry requirements can change, and Cuban-born travelers may have additional passport requirements. We share current instructions before departure.
Reservations and payments
Reserve your place
A $500 deposit is required. The remaining balance is due 90 days before departure. Bookings made within 90 days of departure require full payment when confirmed.
Payment methods
Published prices are in U.S. dollars and based on ACH or wire transfer. ACH payments have no added fee. Credit card payments add a 3.5% fee. Cash and checks are not accepted.
Community commitment
Havana Music Tours contributes 5% of tour revenue to The CreatiVrole Project; no separate traveler donation is required.
